Who we are
We are an entity within the Viterbi School of Engineering at USC focused on the frontiers of energy technologies that help to find ways to reduce environmental pollution of green house gases and solve fundamental problems in existing and new energy sources.
What we do
We identify important areas of research with short to middle term goals by interacting with the faculty within USC and our oversight and advisory committees and provide seed fund support to researchers in the Viterbi School and the university to focus on innovative solutions to energy related areas.
Where we work
The main administrative office is RTH 302 but the domain of activities spreads to many laboratories and research facilities at USC
Mission of E-CET
The mission of E-CET is to develop and promote engineering research and education programs in support of the Energy Transition.
E-CET will provide national-level educational opportunities for college students during Engineering Week and for high-school science teachers during the summer provide them with realistic solutions to the Energy Transition. E-CET will work with business entities to initiate and enhance collaborations that will support the development of both undergraduate and graduate USC students and prepare them for energy careers in academia, government, and energy related industry.
E-CET will engage Faculty at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and other academic units to support the development of research programs related to the Energy Transition. Support will be in the form of seed funding and/or Ph.D. fellowships and domain mentorship for the development of research proposals to sponsoring private and government agencies and industry partners. The selected programs are targeted to both enhance the current capabilities and expand the formation of focused research and development areas in Energy Transition.
